last night was spent with mok mok and my sister at plaza sing. after dinner, we went tcc to chill out. it was really GREAT meeting her again after 2 mths or so. seldom do i actually give my frens a hug when i meet them. but when i saw mok last night, i just couldnt resist it. little did i realise that i miss her that much. how i wish she didnt have to leave for australia. but my initiution tells me that she will do real well over there. so dun worry, mok! study hard and u'll excel in whatever u're doing. my life will be short of a true and lively fren during this period of time. im alr missing you! haha. must MUST come back to spore more often k. rmb u have the end of this year to send me the guy's photo. heehs. =P
16th june is just round the corner and im already feeling the anxiety. the zoo excursion for underprivileged children from Daybreak FSC will be my first major project under Volunteer Resource Network. in the past,i've only been volunteering in events as a participant/volunteer. but this time im one of the leaders of this project. im glad im in it with my one and only HAO REN - weilin, apart from tiffany (a working adult) and of cuz charles (the head of VRN). since one month ago, we've started on the zoo recce trip, followed by the meetings at daybreak FSC, the msn meeting sessions, the searching and buying of presents for 70 kids, the packing of presents at daybreak FSC with help my juniors, getting buns for the volunteers, preparing the quiz questions and sourcing for cheap pens & fans. i must say on my part that it's quite a tedious process on a whole.
but i cant imagine the amount of work charles is handling on his own. he got sponsors for drawstring bags for the kids, sponsors for titbits & pandan cakes, liasing with the zoo personnel with the admission tickets & KFC lunch, collaborating with daybreak & getting 40 odd volunteers, purchasing pink dolphin drinks for both volunteers & children and getting first aid volunteers.
well at least one thing off our minds is the budget. we've sufficient money to get as much things for this event. all thanks to charles's pool of generous and charitable working adults. (:
hope all goes well next sat. yup im crossing both my ten fingers and ten toes. =P
